The Construction Manager of the Year award recognised not only the project’s technical complexity of the project but also challenges it overcame, including a major fire in the joinery supplier’s factory during a critical stage of works to fit out the building.
Rob Cooper, Construction Manager for Laing O’Rourke, collected the award, paying tribute to the work of the Capital Projects team and others in Estates Services and across the University in delivering the project.
Now occupied by the Physics department, the Beecroft has already won prestigious prizes including a RIBA National Award and a Constructing Excellence SECBE award.
