Crime Prevention through Environmental Design
The aim of crime prevention design is to reduce the opportunities for people to commit crime and disorder in the built environment, and create safe environments for people to work and live
We offer crime prevention design advice from a trained adviser with expertise in reducing and preventing crime and the fear of crime in all aspects of building developments, environmental design and public spaces.
Our trained Crime Prevention Design Adviser works alongside teams across Estates Services to ensure that crime prevention is taken into consideration in the design, management and security of all University spaces. The Adviser will assess a development against following principles:
- Environmental quality and sense of ownership
