Collegiate Accommodation Support Service (CASS)
The Collegiate Accommodation Support Service (CASS) is open to Graduate students at the University of Oxford. We prioritise students in their first year of study but also hold a waiting list for continuing students.
Each year, some Colleges have rooms that are not used by their own students.
The aim of CASS is to provide a platform for Colleges to let those unused rooms to students from other Colleges, and to provide a single point of contact for eligible students who have not been successful in securing accommodation at their own College, or with the Graduate Accommodation Office.
CASS will take the stress away from students having to contact Colleges individually and they will guide you through the available options, enhancing the Graduate student experience in seeking accommodation.
Accommodation
Room availability and types vary year to year, depending on College allocations. When a room is available, we’ll provide details about the room and College facilities. Most rooms are expected to have shared bathroom facilities.
Eligibility Criteria
To join the CASS waiting list, students must:
- Be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at the University of Oxford
- Not already hold College or Graduate Accommodation elsewhere.
Students may also join the Graduate Accommodation waiting list, but only one offer can be accepted.
How to apply
- CASS accommodation is available to full-time graduate students only. Please visit eligibility criteria for further information.
- Due to demand for Graduate accommodation, Graduate students in their first year of study will be prioritised. We will then hold a second waiting list for continuing students, and this will be used if we have available rooms and no further first year students to offer to
- Applications for accommodation from Michaelmas term 2025 will open from 21 July 2025
- Students need to refer to the application form to apply to join the waiting list
- All sections should be completed
- All initial correspondence will be through CASS
- Once a student has submitted the form, they will receive an acknowledgement with a receipt of their responses.
- Once CASS has completed the eligibility checks, they will confirm by email to the student if they have been added to the waiting list
- If successful, in the first correspondence, they will be notified of their position on the waiting list
- The student will be contacted regularly with an update of their place on the waiting list and any other updates that we can provide.
When a room becomes available:
- Priority is given to the student’s home College, if applicable
- Otherwise, offers are made based on waiting list order and suitability (first-year students prioritised)
- Students are contacted to discuss options
- Students must respond within 48 hours of an offer of accommodation being made.
- If accepted, the Host College will be contacted by CASS and provided with student’s details. They will then send the agreement and deposit payment details directly to the student.
- Declined offers remove students from the list.
Application form
The application form to join the waiting list will open on 21 July 2025.
