Harriet Waters chairs international campus sustainability meeting

The group discussed shared challenges and opportunities in moving their universities towards greater sustainability – from striking the right balance between buildings and green space in new developments to cutting the waste sent to landfill to zero and setting effective carbon-reduction targets.

Space Manager Emma Spencer was also in New Haven, representing the University at the IARU Real Estates working group, which was held at Yale at the same time; Director of Operations Isobel Hughes also attended both meetings.

IARU is a group of 11 research-intensive universities from nine countries all over the world, which meet regularly to share experience and best practice in key strategic areas.
