This will help ensure they can provide the best possible services within the resource constraints they are subject to at present. During the pandemic they have remained working on site and carrying out their core duties while also taking on numerous new responsibilities including the provision of security services to the Covid-19 Vaccine Trials Unit at Old Road Campus.
Alongside reductions in staffing levels, this has placed the team under significant pressure. To aid in planning how to use the resources available as effectively as possible, the team would like departments to notify them of their plans and security requirements for the closure period by the following deadlines:
- 4 December 2020 – service requests, such as temporary key holding services. (Including the provision of access keys/cards and emergency contact details).
- 11 December 2020 – changes to services, such as different building locking and unlocking times.
- 16 December 2020 – notification of department/building closed periods with no specified service requirements.
It is particularly important to let the team know about changes to emergency contacts during the closure period, as well as about any planned building and cleaning works that have been arranged that Security Services will not be required to provide access for.
