New DLO emergency call-out system on the way

Until now the DLO has dealt with call-outs to deal with emergencies in departmental buildings on a best-efforts basis, responding as quickly as possible given the availability of staff.

Once the new system is launched there will be a formal call-out system with at least one engineer always available to deal with urgent problems such as boiler failures or flooding.

This should greatly improve the DLO's ability to respond quickly and consistently to emergencies, with a formal service-level agreement in place setting out the minimum response times departments can expect.

More details will be announced as soon as they are available; DLO management hope to be able to introduce the new system by the end of the year.
