The building, which houses the Law and English faculties, now has a watertight roof again after suffering from a growing number of leaks over recent years. The temporary roof that was constructed to protect the building during the project is being removed shortly, and all work should be finished by Good Friday.

As well as repairs to the building’s roof, skylights and rainwater drainage system, the project will also involve cleaning and repairing brickwork, improving smoke detection systems and internal redecoration. A new passive ventilation system has also been installed, which should make the building more comfortable and reduce overheating in summer.
