About the building

Teaching facilities are situated on the lower two floors and consist of two lecture theatres, seminar rooms and teaching rooms. At the heart of this area and indeed of the whole building, is the Inamori Forum, a multi-use circulation space that can be used for everything from informal meetings, to large lectures or talks. This was designed to support openness, communication and transparency which are key to the School’s overall mission.

The rest of the six levels are made up of two floors of office accommodation for faculty staff and two floors housing common rooms for the students at the top of the building. Throughout, natural light permeates the building.

Sustainability was at the heart of the design with automated natural ventilation, ground source heating, solar panels and rainwater harvesting incorporated into the design.

Completion

November 2015. It was officially opened by HRH the Duke of Cambridge in May 2016.
