OUEV accredited under Venues of Excellence scheme

The University Examination Schools, managed by the Oxford University Event Venues (OUEV) team within Estates Services, has achieved accreditation as a member of Venues of Excellence – a consortium of leading UK conference and event venues.

This involved a rigorous assessment process that looked at every aspect of the service the team provide to customers running events in the building – from AV and IT facilities and legal compliance to staff development and well-being, quality of customer support and environmental sustainability. The accreditation will now be maintained with an annual audit to make sure standards remain as high as ever.

Membership of the scheme will help OUEV promote the venue to event organisers and reach a wider range of prospective customers.

‘It is fantastic that OUEV has been recognised within the industry for our commitment to quality and excellence,’ said Ellen Brady, Interim Head of OUEV. ‘We are looking forward to the numerous benefits of membership, to building our network on a national level, and to showcasing the Examination Schools to new clients as the exceptional and unique venue it is.’

Part of the Estates Services Facilities Management team, OUEV currently manage four venues – the Examination Schools, the Sheldonian Theatre, St Luke’s Chapel on the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter and William Osler House at the John Radcliffe Hospital site. These can be hired by event organisers when they are not being used for University purposes, generating revenue to support the University’s academic mission.
