In September, the County Council launched Connecting Oxford, an ambitious set of proposals aimed at tackling congestion and improving public transport access to Oxford
6 November 2019
The proposals involve the installation of bus gates and the introduction of new parking levies for those driving into the city centre. The University held a community briefing event on 11 October in which Council officials gave a presentation about the proposals and what they would mean for the city; this was well-attended, attracting around 80 people from all over the collegiate University. It is currently putting together a joint response that will be put before Council in early December, and is keen to receive feedback on the proposals from a broad range of members of staff, to ensure its response is as comprehensive and well-informed as possible.
If you have an opinion on the proposals and their implications for the University, whether it is positive or negative, the Sustainable Travel team would like to hear from you – please contact Adam Bows, Sustainable Transport Manager, on firstname.lastname@example.org.
