The framework will provide departments with a range of trusted contractors that can be engaged to work on projects worth up to £100,000. This will mean they can be confident that the firm they hire has the necessary size, capacity, skills and equipment, is suitably insured, has the correct contract terms, and complies with all relevant laws and regulations as well as with University procedures and guidance. These are firms with a track record of working in partnership with the University, and we are confident that they will provide departments with high-quality work and good value for money. Departments will still need to obtain permission from Estates Services to undertake minor capital works projects. This will complement the existing purchasing frameworks for intermediate works and for large projects. Evaluation of the new Framework is almost complete, and a formal launch is expected in early 2023.
