With a cafe and welcoming common room, the Hub provides an informal space for staff, students and visitors to meet. The Hub was the first building in the University of Oxford to use the environmentally friendly Passivhaus design methodology and achieved full Passivhaus accreditation. This provides exceptionally low energy demand, allied with the highest standards of comfort. The building was shortlisted for a RIBA South Award 2018. |
